1. Information We Collect

This extension ("Bye Bye Duplicates") does NOT collect, store, or transmit any personal information. We process the following data locally in your browser:

• Tab URLs: Temporarily accessed to detect duplicate tabs
• Tab Metadata: Last accessed timestamps and mute status
• User Preferences: Locally stored settings for:
  • Check intervals
  • Google search handling
  • Media tab preservation
  • Extension enabled/disabled status

2. How We Use Information

All data processing occurs locally in your browser. We do not:

• Store any information externally
• Share data with third parties
• Use data for advertising or analytics
• Sell or monetize user data

3. Data Storage

All user preferences are stored locally using Chrome's chrome.storage.sync API. This data:

• Remains on your device
• Is encrypted in transit (when syncing across Chrome browsers)
• Can be deleted by uninstalling the extension

4. Permissions

We require the following Chrome permissions:

• tabs: To analyze and manage tab URLs
