1. Information We Collect
This extension ("Bye Bye Duplicates") does NOT collect, store, or transmit any personal information. We process the following data locally in your browser:
- Tab URLs: Temporarily accessed to detect duplicate tabs
- Tab Metadata: Last accessed timestamps and mute status
- User Preferences: Locally stored settings for:
- Check intervals
- Google search handling
- Media tab preservation
- Extension enabled/disabled status
2. How We Use Information
All data processing occurs locally in your browser. We do not:
- Store any information externally
- Share data with third parties
- Use data for advertising or analytics
- Sell or monetize user data
3. Data Storage
All user preferences are stored locally using Chrome's chrome.storage.sync
API. This data:
- Remains on your device
- Is encrypted in transit (when syncing across Chrome browsers)
- Can be deleted by uninstalling the extension
4. Permissions
We require the following Chrome permissions:
